I play ragtime, and am cutting a little 'friends and family' CD of ~20 Joplin pieces. I should be done by June; wouldn't mind a little feedback, if you're interested in listening.

This page is GREAT! I finally know how some of the songs in my book of completel works of Scot Joplin are supposed to be played. I've tried to practice them, but I never heard them being played. So I'm coming back here whenever I need to learn a new piece. Thanks so much, for all the effort you put into this site. It's well worth it for me, I hope it is for you too!

I am 8 1/2 years old and I really enjoy listening to the MIDI files of Scott Joplin. My Dad played me the Entertainer one day and I likd it so I asked him who that was. We went to Yahoo to find some sites about Scott Joplin. We found your page and have come back many times to listen to the different songs by Scott Joplin. Thank you for taking time to make this site so that people like me can learn about the music of Scott Joplin

from Essex, , England wrote on April 23, 1999 at 12:00 am
Yes its me again, I don't know what happened there I sent it without realising it had gone. The jist of what I was trying to say was that there are still not enough performers of Joplin coming through and one day his music may fade out- I was just going to wish anyone like myself who has the intention of spreading some of Joplin's lesser known music such as Solace, Gladiolus Rag (but still magnificent music) the very best of luck. It would be a real shame to see his legacy die!
from Essex, , England wrote on April 23, 1999 at 12:00 am
This site is one of the best Joplin sites I have visited! I have no idea how you managed to have the patience to create all those MIDI files! I wish my ragtime files were as well put together as those!

I'm very impressed that a person your age (judging by the picture on your Home Page) would have such an interest in such an old form of music as ragtime. Thanks for making Scott Joplin's collection easily available to us out here in rural America. Also, a particular thank you for your use of the .pdf files and the like to the Acrobat Reader. I've already downloaded the "Fig Leaf" and "The Easy Winners". Thanks again.

Great site. Great service. I have been a great fan of Joplin since I first heard his music back in the early 70's. I consider him one of America's great composers. His Treemonisha has some of the most beautiful music in opera...although I must admit the libretto is a bit smaltzy...but then again, so is Verdi. 🙂 Keep up the great work...more people should know about Scott Joplin.
