Thanks, Jeff. I'm just getting re-interested in piano composition after a long absence and I find I am really enjoying ragtime. I am renting a Kawai digital piano with full MIDI in/out and am using my old Micron laptop with Voyetra MIDI software and a PCMCIA MIDI card to set up a small learning/entertainment center for myself. I have been looking for some Joplin MIDI files to play. Thanks very much. Doug

Yes i like the midi files you created on Scott Joplin, the undisputed ragtime king. I just wondered if you can create a new midi of Solace, but instead of having it in the key of Concert C major and then the second half to Concert F major, Could you play it in the key of Concert B major and then second half to concert E major, and form a new midi file of this. Could you also bring the Maple Leaf Rag to the key of concert A Major instead of concert A flat Major. Please contact me as soon as possible at my email address at uoyibo@yahoo.com

I love to play Scott Joplin's Rags, and Magnetic is my favorite - i memorized it about 15 yrs ago and can play it from memory; i also especially love his Gladiolus Rag....and James Scott's Evergreen (i play all of these from memory, plus several more, and some great Bach & Handel pieces... Do you know Ragtime Rod, who plays the piano at the Coke Corner in Disneyland? He is the most incredible musician! he has been happily playing honky-tonk piano music at Disneyland for over 17 yrs and was featured in a recent edition of Disney News magazine...the last time i went to visit him there (1996) he had a CD of his rags, and of course i bought one ... Do you know of any rags by Lee B. Grabbe? I have the sheet music for his delightful Calico Rag ... have you heard of any other rags by him? Please write back and tell me more about yourself and your Ragtime pursuits...like, how many player pianos do you own?

Here I go for a second time! Your Joplin archives have been bookmarked and I have returned again and again to listen to his compositions. It is nice to have such easy access without waiting for tapes to come in the mail like I have been doing! Thanks for taking such obvious time and effort to put this together. MIDI files are not easy to create, at least not from my experiance!

I have been a fan of ragtime, particularly the work of Scott Joplin, since I was 12 years old and heard Eubie Blake perform the "Maple Leaf Rag." I learned the piano for the express purpose of playing ragtime--a difficult feat since I have cerebral palsy. But for some reason, the syncopated rhythm of ragtime seems ideally suited to my spastic hands. My dream is to one day be good enough to perform at the Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival in Sedalia, MO. If you accept MIDI files from people, I would love to one day send you my own rendition of the Maple Leaf Rag, as well as my own compositions.

Fantastic site!!!!. I write a newsletter for a PC Club and I will let the members know of your URL. Thanks, and a great job. One of my daughters is a piano student and presently is doing some Joplin pieces. She will be glad to know what some (all) of his work sounds like. That for me always make things easier to understand. Like studying a language, if you can't hear native speakers, it's difficult to get the pronunciation correct. Music is a language!
