THANKS FOR THE FREE MIDI STUFF GREAT PIANO PLAYING KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GLAD TO SEE EVERY ONE ON THE INTERNET IS NOT TRYING TO MAKE A KILLING OFF OF EVERY ONE.
Certainly enjoyable. Have always loved ragtime and of course Scott Joplin. It is very generous of you to devote the time and patience required to do this so others can enjoy it. Thanks!
.
great stuff
You've spent a lot of time putting all these MIDI file together and I appreciate you allowing people like me access to them. I would never have the time to do do this for myself but I enjoy playing them. Thanks!
I'm pleased that you have so many freely downloadable MIDI files - thanks. Actually, I'm a newbie and did a search for MIDI + SCAN to see if I can find any info on musical OCR (I don't like typing scores!).
I'm attending Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. Hi! I'm glad you have all of these midi files, it's wonderful! I'm a piano player who's looking for new and interesting rags, you're selections were a big help! Thanks! -Dan
This is so cool. I have a Disklavier and have been starved for material. Thanks!
GREAT I LOVE JOPLIN
Keep up the good work!
Realy, some enjoyable music. Not the rock stuff. I enjoy big band music. I played in big bands as a drummer back in the 40s and 50s. Started when in high school. Played in Marine dance bands from coast to coast. Joe Muhn
I think Scott Joplin was one of the greatest composers that ever lived(he's right up ther with Mozart and Beethoven)!
New to this MIDI thing and have enjoyed your files!
Thanks for the info. My daughter is doing a report on Scott Joplin and this site has been very interesting and fun. We really enjoy the music.
great
Thanks for your all of your hard work! We found you while researching for a paper my 11 year old son is working on. We're not sure how to unzip your other midi files, but will work on it.
I'm marylou, Malcolm's my son, a music freak. At the moment he is writing music scripts for videos.Scott Joplin is his favourate ragtime composer. Love your page very easy to peruse through.

It's a great homepage you have. I love to listen to ragtime, but most of all I love playing some of them myself. I play the piano (not very well), and ragtime is the most fun to play. My favourite to play is Original Rags by Joplin. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Norway.

convert old player piano rolls (marches, jazz) to midi it posiible to take an old player tracker bar, add leds and photocells to read each note, with a little additional hardware and software to make an auto transfer. it is a project to do, but i don't have time........
Thanks. Enjoyed it!
first, let me thank You for letting me load some of Your Ragtunes. I'll let You know more, after listening to them. ch
Great site Only thing I can suggest is that you continue this work. Dorothy Morgan

Age 61, retired airline pilot, been playing classic ragtime since 1980. Prefer Joplin, Scott, Lamb, and other serious composers of their style, but enjoy the works of modern day composers such as William Bolcom and Max Morath.
You have a very nice web site .
Not yet. I just found this page, but I am a huge Scott Joplin fan and I found your page as a result of a general search for Joplin. I am trying to locate and eventually acquire as many different recordings of Joplin as I can . Later. jtooke
cool homepage !but i want more clips!!!!!!
Absolutely fabulous page!! I've been a ragtime time fan since the movie "The Sting" opened. I've got a tiny collection of rag albums and CDs. I seek more CDs of the orchestral versions of Scott Joplin's rags. I wonder if more Gunther Schuller's band renditions are available on CD; I recall the Everest label having a couple of good ones on wax. Anyway, I thank you very much for constructing this archive. I think it needed to be done!
Your work is fantastic. I found your page from a friend of a friend in Texas. I hope by now you have found the job you desire. Charley
This is a great service!
I am a fan of Joplin!!!
Like your BGSOUND - am just learning to write web pages, am retired and surf the web daily. Will put your site on my fovorites Thanks:roneyre
This must have taken a lot of work, but it was definitely worth it! Thank you for midifying Joplin!
.
You got a big smile when I got onto your site and was greeted with Scott Joplin's music while browsing. How do I reset it once it stopped?
I'm not sure you got my first message although you may have received the second--sorry to be so forgetful but, she said quaintly, did you possibly know Sandy Schopp while you were living in Newport Beach? My best friend from high school.
I would love to invite all you Scott Joplin fans to the Sedalia MO Scott Joplin Festival in June. Love this web site and everyone's comments. You are always welcome in Missouri, the cradle of Ragtime!
.
Into Ragtime... love your files.
Great songs. Keep up the good work.
grrrrreat!
A more direct e-mail address (which netscape seems to screw up because of the percent sign) is eabqb%qb001.bitnet@cunyvm.cuny.edu There is also a homepage in progress (& has been in progress for several months already), but I don't know when/if it will be finished. (Being done by a student.) But you can check out the Joplin essay I wrote at www.classical.net/music/comp.Lst/Joplin.html

Naw, just looking. I started teaching myself piano recently and went right to the hard stuff - Joplin rags. I've downloaded a few MIDI files to see how they really sound - it'll be a good many years before I sound that way, I know, so it's inspiring to hear it done right. Ain't the net great for such things ("Gee, I want to get some MIDI files of Joplin rags - wow, three clicks and I'm there). Take care.
Ragtime music makes me feel good. Something like Bluegrass does. I am learning some tunes from a music book that I have and I like to hear how the tunes SHOULD sound.
New visitor - just browsing.
Thank you for doing this
I enjoy ragtime, although Bluegrass is my favorite.
Thank You for a wonderfull experience. bob holmes
I like it. And I will be back.
I am thrilled to find so many of Joplin's works! Thanks you
A very nice site, well worth while. Keep up the good work!
Looking to make ragtime connections/gig possibilities in St. Louis.
I enjoy playing Scott Joplin rags. I'm hunting for Joplin MIDI files. When I grow up I'll have Cakewalk Pro so I can compose my own MIDI files! BTW - Nice background music.
.
Loved your midi files. Keep up the good work, really enjoyed it.
Good luck with S. Joplin, I can only play about 5 of his pieces all the way through. I went and studied Elton John's playing, because he was a little bit down from Joplin. You don't really learn their music, it comes out of developing a good ability to play scales and triads in different keys. I play what i can easily, then everytime I hit that part when I practicing transpose it into a different key that way i get used to them.
Hello Jeff! I play the guitar a little and I´m interested in all kinds of guitar tunes. My son plays the guitar too, mostly punk... I´m especially interested in ragtime-settings for guitar. Maybe You can give me some tips? Gert Forsström Flen Sweden
I haven't browsed yet, signed book first, but your introduction piece is lovely.
I enjoy the music.
I like Joplin and I like your page. Thanks for doing it.
.
I have loved Ragtime piano for as long as I can remember. Its happy music. I have often said that the best of our country's music is black or strongly influenced by it. And I'm white! Keith Hammond.
From Norway and Canada - also lived in England for many years - professional singer and music educator (teach high school music in Cobourg, Ontario). Doing some research for my students on Scott Joplin - looks good!
cool site, lotsa info
I'm afraid that I don't have anything too exciting to say. I was wondering whether you would have any Star Trek related stuff on your site. As someone who has actively been working as a technician and an engineer since 1982 I wish you the best of luck in your search for a good job. It's not easy ending up with a good job but remember that every job you get (whether you like it or accept out of necessity) will earn you valuable experience. Though now I live in Istanbul, I still have a chance to complete my Ph.D. in computer eng. at Lehigh University in PA. As I said, it's not easy. Best of luck!
.
Hi there Jeff! Nice page.
.
Well done!
Do not play these fast. It is never correct to play ragtime fast. Cool archive!!! Jeff
Include some Eubie Blake rags!
Thanks for the page I will look around and see what's what I you would like to send us some email feel free Kind regards Godfrey
Great collection. Love Joplin. Let me know if you get any more H.M.S. Pinafore
I think your page is really great. Keep up the good work
Just surfing thru. Looking for Style and Content. Trends and Fashions. This site has both. Just a suggetion but. Wouldnt it be cool to have a graphic for your Guest book and a Graphic for your home page and the Graphic for E-mail and have it scroll by in the lower left window freeing up the other 60% of lower row for ???? This will give the page DYNAMICS and LIFE. Just an Opinion and an IDEAL.!!!

Joplin rules. La.
I haven't unzipped the files yet, but I'm really looking forward to hearing them. Thank you! Patrick
Thanks for making Scott Joplin's music more accessible.
EX! Loved it
Very Nice Site. I lost all my Joplin Tunes when my PC crashed. It is nice to have them back.
From St. Michael's Church, New York City. Scott Joplin is buried in St. Michael's Cemetery, in Astoria, Queens -- so I'm looking for biographical detail. Thanks for the site!
Wonderful!
